As the festive period rapidly approaches and lockdown comes to an end, many retail facilities will see a massive increase in footfall and the associated increase in vehicle activity on site - one way to help keep shoppers and staff safe is to utilise specially trained security car park marshal's.

This increase in vehicle activity and connected seasonal stress levels in drivers can lead to challenging situations across the nation’s car parks.

A key tool in helping reduce car park issues, maximise space occupation, reduce traffic and congestion and therefore improve customer experiences is to utilise car park marshals.

“The traffic marshal's main role is to ensure the safety of vehicles and pedestrian traffic on a client's site and on behalf of the general public.

A traffic marshal will be fully trained in the correct hand signals and equipment to hold traffic, co-ordinate movements and communicate with other site personnel through radios.”

Experienced marshals will facilitate the client in providing the correct health and safety standards for site. They will also assist and guide delivery drivers in their duties of reversing and unloading in the safest way.

The extra visible presence on site can also act as a deterrent to potential disruptive activity.

To recap a marshal will be expected to assist in the following:

•Facilitate vehicles into and out of the site entrance
•Preserve pedestrian and traffic routes
•Manage the safe movement of traffic in and around the site
•Ensure the safe movement of pedestrians

At White Star we pride ourselves on providing the industries best car park marshals:
